The use of the internet is very prominent in peoples' lives and is extremely useful for education, therefore the school decided to look at the safety aspects.
All staff recently attended an INSET delivered by a Lancashire ICT consultant with regard to e-safety. He highlighted areas to be wary about in terms of internet safety. All were given sheets and CDs with information. The sessions were a success and we intend to arrange other meetings like this in the future.
Children are taught about Internet Safety during ICT sessions in school, however you can help your child to stay safe on-line using activities which are freely available.
See the links below.
Home school agreement|
At the beginning of Reception class and Year 3 we ask parents to sign the 'Home-School Agreement'. This confirms the commitment of both parties to provide the best possible conditions to allow children's potential to be realised.
Ofsted have launched an online questionnaire that will allow parents and carers to give their views on their child’s school at any time of the year. This is called Parent View and is available to use via the link below. The 12-question survey will help other parents as they make important choices about their child’s education and provide Ofsted with information about schools that will help inform priorities for inspection. The system states that it is not a forum to make complaints about schools, so if you do have any specific issues, you know that you are always welcome to make an appointment to discuss it with us. To avoid misuse, the system requires that you register and set up a password. All our current parents are invited to contribute to this; we just ask that you be honest but fair. Thank you.
